The great advantage of this type of data backup is that it allows backup files to be compressed reducing the space they occupy. In addition, software allows you to make incremental backups, so that only new or modified material is backed every time a data backup is done. Furthermore, you are able to encrypt your backup in order to reduce the chance of data theft.

The third and final type of Computer Backup is the remote backup which refers to storing backup data online. Online backup is quickly becoming popular due to the increased space it offers and the ability to access it at any time and from any place in the world. There is certainly no shortage of online backup providers today.
